VERN is excited to announce that 3 committee positions are open for application. We have spaces for 2 academic committee members, and 1 social media representative. The positions will allow involvement in the creation, development and implementation of VERN projects. The role will require attendance to regular online meetings with the VERN committee.
Academic committee member
VERN was first established in 2013 and now has 9 committee positions inclusive of all of the disciplines that are integral to successful Vascular Surgery throughout the UK. We aim to recruit two new academic committee members in 2017 whose early role will be to engage with the other committee members in order to facilitate ongoing grant applications/studies with the aim of then developing and leading a new vascular national collaborative study in 2018/19. Applicants should be highly motivated, have experience of research, ethics, grant applications and ideally have some experience with collaborative work.
Social media representative
We are looking for a new member of the committee (Preferably a core trainee with a vascular interest) to take charge of the VERN Facebook and Twitter accounts. This role will primarily involve engagement with followers to help recruitment for ongoing studies, to highlight academic opportunities (both within VERN and outside) and as a source of up to date research in respective Vascular Journals that would be of interest. The expectation of the committee is that the person taking up this role will have a good experience of using these platforms with the aim that in time VERN can develop its social media presence. The person taking up the role would attend a meeting (by phone) six times per year for a period of 2 years.
