The Vascular and Endovascular Research Network

Welcome to the Vascular and Endovascular Research Network (VERN), a global, multidisciplinary collaborative dedicated to improving vascular care through cutting-edge research and innovation.

40+ centres across England, Wales, and Scotland – expanding into Australia, New Zealand & the U.S.
Bringing together vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, nurses, scientists & researchers.
Facilitating multi-centre audits & studies to improve patient outcomes worldwide.

Join our network and help shape the future of vascular care.

Outcomes in chronic limb-threatening ischaemia (CLTI) often hinge on whether a usable great saphenous vein (GSV) is available. Conduit choice matters, yet the criteria and conditions used to judge ‘vein suitability’ vary widely between centres.

The aim of SAVVY is to document the variability in how different centres determine vein conduit suitability for bypass. The outcomes of this survey can then be used to try optimise assessment protocols nationally and potentially create a standard protocol with the aim of reducing variability.
